Independence Day Speech
Good morning respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends,
Today, we have gathered here to celebrate the most important day in the history of our country — Independence Day. On 15th August 1947, India became free from British rule after nearly 200 years of struggle.
This day is not only a celebration of freedom but also a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our great leaders and freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and countless others. They fought with determination, some with weapons, and some with non-violence and truth, but their goal was the same — to give us a free India. Today, because of them, we can live with dignity, speak freely, and follow our dreams.
However, true freedom also comes with responsibility. As citizens, we must protect our unity, respect our culture, and work for the growth of our country. We can contribute by being honest, following the rules, helping those in need, and working hard in our studies or jobs.
Let us remember that freedom is precious, and it must be preserved with care. On this Independence Day, let us take a pledge to be responsible citizens and make our nation proud in every way possible. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
